Program Description:
A person who works between a
forest engineer, a forestry engineer (regional manager, district manager), or a
forest industry engineer, and a forest conservation/afforestation officer in
various branches of forestry studies.
Objectives of the Forestry and
Forest Products Department:
To train technical personnel
who will work as intermediaries between forest engineers, forest industry
engineers, and forest conservation officers in forestry and forestry studies.
They are equipped to serve as technical personnel in the sustainable management
of forest resources. They comply with laws and ethical principles, value the
environment and nature, have strong communication skills, are open to
innovation, and are research-oriented and entrepreneurial.
Fields of Work:
They can work in technical and
administrative positions in institutions such as the Central and Provincial
Organizations of the Ministry of Forestry and Water Affairs (General
Directorate of Nature Conservation and National Parks, General Directorate of
Forestry), the General Directorate of State Hydraulic Works, the General
Directorate of Highways, and the State Planning Organization. They can also
work as technical personnel in private forestry offices, landscaping companies,
private nurseries, and private organizations engaged in forestry-related work
and operations.
Vertical Transfer Areas:
Candidates who successfully
complete their associate's degree can pursue undergraduate studies in the
Forest Engineering and Forest Industrial Engineering departments of Forestry
Faculties if they pass the Vertical Transfer Exam (DGS) administered by ÖSYM.
Technical Infrastructure and
Laboratory Facilities:
The Department of Forestry and
Forest Products is located in the Dursunbey district of Balıkesir province. Our
school has a sufficient number of classrooms, as well as a computer laboratory
and a forestry and forest products laboratory. The forestry and forest products
laboratory is equipped with technical equipment for our students to use in
their coursework.
Academic Staff:
The Department of Forestry and
Forest Products at Dursunbey Vocational School has three faculty members.
